Definitely the best "non-insider" Ramsey book I've read so far and a great supplement to the two books written by former lead case investigators Steve Thomas (Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation) and later James Kolar (Foreign Faction), a pair of books best described as "How The Boulder District Attorney's Office Tanked This Case, Part 1 and Part 2". Unlike the aforementioned books which share information gleaned directly from police evidence and personal experience behind the scenes, Listen Carefully collates and analyzes publicly available material to provide a well-rounded overview of the crime and its aftermath. In a refreshing departure from most books on this subject, the author does not offer any theory as to which Ramsey did what or why - though they have clearly rejected and in my opinion debunked the "intruder theory." They simply lay out the facts without promoting any pet theory.I described this as a supplement for Thomas and Kolar's books because you would really be missing out if you did not read those books too - they are packed with important details. Listen Carefully is not an exhaustive summary of the case, but it's not a simple rehashing of old material either. This is a case full of so many twists and turns it will make your head spin, and the author has chosen to highlight some of the twists known to longtime case followers but not extensively covered in previous books. The information is as up-to-date as you can get - they include references to interviews and articles written just weeks before publication. My only complaint is that the book wasn't longer. But if you want a good intro to the Ramsey investigation or find yourself wanting more after reading the other books, you'll definitely want to pick up this one.

The writers of the book ONLY included the facts of the case while at the same time providing evidence for everything they wrote about. Very straight forward and easy to understand. Totally worth purchasing this book!!!
This book is the most comprehensive one I've read (granted, I have not read them all), it does a very good job explaining in detail things that have not been adequately addresses elsewhere, like trace DNA and laying out a timeline. It's straight forward and objective, though I would say (as opposed to so m e other reviewers) you do get a sense of the authors' opinion. More than any other book or show about this terrible death, this book leaves the reader sure that justice has been prevented - and on several levels by the very people who should have been fighting for it.
I have read several books on this subject. This one differs in that it concentrates specifically on the evidence. I found it very informative and it allows one to be led to the obvious conclusion. Definitely recommend.
I've been following the JonBenet Ramsey case for years. This book was a fascinating and loaded with facts cited from actual primary sources. I especially love the pictures they provided additional insight and detail. Well done True Crime Detectives Guild on exposing the truth. This is a real page turner and a definite must read.
Listen Carefully is quite an interesting read. If one is obsessed with the JonBenet Ramsey case, then this is the book for them. It is full of facts about the investigation and debunks myths and other rumors the public has believed over the years. The authors thoroughly explain many aspects involved, including how the DNA was tested. The book has color photos and diagrams that are easy to read and understand.
I think all would find something new they did not know about this complex case.
This is my top favorite book I have read on the events involving this investigation.

This is an important work for Ramsey case followers, especially given that it includes the complete autopsy report which generally isn't covered in detail in most other books. These detective guild fellows let the reader come to their own conclusions regarding the likely murderer which is somewhat refreshing. You have enough info here to come to an enlightened opinion on how this terrible murder likely happened if you've kept an open mind on this maddening case.
I've followed the Ramsey case since it first hit the headlines. I have read all the books on the case and all the viewpoints on the different crime forums. Over the years, there have been an absolute maze of conflicting accounts, books written by many different people, including the Ramsey family themselves and multiple theories, ranging from the plausible to the completely absurd. This book is the first to lay out clearly in layman's language the absolute facts, debunking so many of the myths and lies that have been told. The book gives the reader the sequence of events in a logical, stepwise manner and stays on track completely. When exposing so many of the myths that have built up around this case, the authors have verified their information with officially backed up documentation. They refrain from giving their own opinion and simply present the facts, leaving the reader to make up their own minds. This book is absolutely the best I have read on this case. I could not put it down. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who has had doubts and questions about this case. I think this book answers them all. Along with Detective Steve Thomas' book, this book is a simply must read for any follower of the Ramsey case.
